DAY 1 : Meet in Châlons-en-Champagne for lunch in the city centre, before setting out to explore the Gallo-Roman cellars of Joseph PERRIER Champagne. After a tasting of the king of wines, you will travel in a boat, and admire many sites and Chalonnais monuments from an unusual angle. Dinner in the city centre; night in a 3-Star hotel.
DAY 2 : Towards Lac du Der for a visit to the Musée du Der which traces the history of the three lost villages and immerses you in the heart of an authentic village of Der! After a local lunch, you will discover the lake aboard the boat «Along the water». On your way to Troyes, you will stop at Longsols to admire
its half-timbered church. Dinner in the city centre of Troyes, night in a 4* hotel.
DAY 3 : Guided tour of Troyes, city of art and history, which invites you to stroll in a medieval atmosphere. Before lunch in the heart of the city, meet at Cellier St Pierre for a visit and a tasting of the Prunelle de Troyes! The afternoon is devoted to a visit to the City of Vitrail, an exceptional place entirely dedicated to the world of stained glass, taking up its quarters at the fully restored HôtelDieu-le-Comte. After free-time, dinner in the city centre and overnight at your 4-Star hotel.
DAY 4 : Follow in the footsteps of Pierre-Auguste Renoir in Essoyes. Visit of the Du Côté des Renoir centre, the artist’s studio, his house, and the cemetery where he rests. Lunch and cellar visit in Loches-Sur-Ource,
discovery of one of Renoir’s champagnes! You will then go to the Cistercian Abbey of Clairvaux, a French masterpiece of monastic architecture, before rejoining Colombey-Les-Deux-Eglises. Dinner and overnight in a 3 * hotel.
DAY 5 : This day dedicated to Colombey-Les-Deux-Eglises, which became famous for having been chosen by General de Gaulle, will allow you to first visit the Charles de Gaulle Memorial which offers you an intimate insight of the man and the Cross of Lorraine. After your lunch, you will go to La Boisserie, the General’s family home and stop at the cemetery before returning to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in your 3 * hotel.
DAY 6 : You end your stay in Champagne in the town of Langres, a town of art and history, which you explore in the little tourist train. At the end of the visit, you will attend an ‘arquebus’ shooting demonstration at the Navarre Tower and you will enjoy a tasting of Langres cheese, accompanied by a local wine. End of the program after lunch in Langres.
